Georgette Heyer April Lady
A question for georgette heyer fans.?
i would like someone who is familiar with her books to recommend those books which have a light,romantic comedy type plot and no gambling heroines please.
i am completely in love with cotillion,arabella , nonesuch and the grand sophy.i did NOT like convenient marriage (no to gambing heroines as stated before ) and april lady as well as cousin kate became too serious for me.
so any suggestions?
You've listed most of the lighthearted Regency ones! I can recommend Frederica as another, with all the twists and turns Heyer is famous for. Friday's Child is also another lovely one, and you will enjoy Sylvester. Also, Regency Buck, which has characters from history as well in it. Sprig Muslin and The Corinthian may be another two; rather slower are Bath Tangle, Black Sheep, Charity Girl, False Colours, Lady of Quality and The Foundling.
If you like a bit of mystery and adventure, there's The Unknown Ajax, The Reluctant Widow and The Toll Gate.
Two of my favourites are ones Heyer wrote later in life, and they're more autumnal in tone, more thoughtful, but no less witty and readable. These are Venetia and A Civil Contract.
The above are Regency stories. If you'd like some set in the 18th century, there are These Old Shades (followed by Devil's Cub). Faro's Daughter has gambling in it and so does her first book, The Black Moth, but it's the hero who's involved with it. The Talisman Ring is a mystery but is hilarious in parts! I'm not sure if you'd like Powder and Patch, but do try it for a glimpse into the manners of the 1740s/50s.
Beauvallet is a great Elizabethan adventure, and Simon the Coldheart is a very engaging Medieval romance. An Infamous Army I wouldn't recommend for you as much of it is about the Battle of Waterloo, but it does carry on with some of the characters of other stories. Pistols for Two is short stories which you might like.

Mrs. Salinas has written a very nice romance novel that readers can disappear in for a few days. The Captain Has Her Heart was just recently released, but is already stealing hearts!
The main character, April, is a nurse who really loves her job and often takes on extra shifts. Her husband is away completing his internship to become a Doctor. April is awoken by a man that comes in with an unusual fever - in fact they are both awaken by each other. She returns to her empty home only to receive a "dear John" letter from her husband who wants a hurried and clean divorce so that he can pursue his new interest.
Shocked and staggered by the loss of the plans that she had for her life, April's strong spirit soon has her taking on the job of a traveling nurse - and ends up not only finding herself but a whole lot more.
Commercial pilot careers are notorious for short-term relationships, but Trig Power was more than willing to take the chance when fate kept placing April near him. He adores her deeply but must also face a shattering experience before he can do anything else. In the end, he learns that what makes a man cannot be seen in a mirror.
Author, A.G. Salinas is a wife and mother of three. She shares a similar career with her main character, which really helps her bring the experience of nursing to her readers.
